ndia is plagued with kidnappings of young children from wealthy backgrounds with their abductors demanding huge ransoms or brutally killing their victims.After the retirement of Police Commissioner Hamza Sheikh,DSP Ali Haider Jaffri takes over.Shortly after this,he displays his abilities when he successfully apprehends a gang of bank robbers-albeit by jeopardizing the life of a bank customer.Then the son of the Continental Bank Chairman, Srivastav,is abducted and held for ransom.Ali comes to know about this,intervenes,but is unable to save the child,resulting in considerable criticism of mishandling this incident.Then Ali's very own world is turned upside down when his daughter,Shagufta,who is to marry Naseerudin,the son of the Home Minister,Syed Noorudin Ahmed,is abducted along with Naseerudin.The question remains-with the lives of his loved ones in jeopardy-will Ali compromise with the kidnappers?Never it happens in Bollywood as he has completed the mission at his own risk.

Ram Prasad (Amol Palekar),a young chartered accountant and his sister Ratna,are orphans living in Bombay.One morning,an old family friend,Dr.Kedar,comes to visit him with information about a very well-paid job being advertised by Bhavani Shankar(Utpal Dutt),the owner of Urmila Trading Corporation,who happens to be Dr.Kedar's personal friend also.Bhavani approves of Ram Prasad Dashrath Prasad Sharma's moustache,oily hair and(short)kurta-pajama,and hires him.Bhavani Shankar is a bit nutty and feels young people should have no interests other than work,so when Ram Prasad wants to watch a hockey test,Ram Prasad tells him that his mother is sick to get leave.Of course, Bhavani goes to the same hockey test and spots Ram Prasad.When confronted at work,Ram Prasad tells him that he has a twin,who is good-for-nothing,who wears loud clothes and is clean-shaven and westernized.Turns out the twin knows music,so to rehabilitate him,Bhavani offers him a job teaching music to his daughter.In a hilarious chase that follows,Bhavani ends up totalling a police jeep.The Senior Inspector (Om Prakash)mistakes him for a thug named Pascal D'Costa & is about to lock him up in the jail.Only when his Inspector identifies Bhavani Shankar by his real identity is he freed.By now,a harried Bhavani has developed hatred for twin as well.On coming home,he finds that Urmila & Lucky are married.He refuses to give them blessings,until Dr.Kedar comes to the scene & explains the whole situation.Now, Bhavani becomes even more furious,but on everybody's insistence,relents.The film ends with a family photo of Mrs.Srivastav,Ratna, Urmila,Ram,Dr.Kedar,Bhavani's sister Kalindi (Shubha Khote)& Bhavani.

Kabzaa is a 1988 bollywood action/drama film starring Sanjay Dutt,Raj Babbar and Paresh Rawal.This movie is a remake of the 1954 American hit On the Waterfront starring Marlon Brando.Ravi Verma is a careless boy who lives with his elder brother Ranjit Verma (Raj Babbar).Ranjit is a lawyer and works for Veljibhai Soda(Paresh Rawal),who is a criminal. Veljibhai has an order to forcefully acquire a land which belongs to Ustad Ali Mohammed(Alok Nath).Ali Mohammed wants to build up a children's park at that site.Ravi somehow gets into the picture and Veljibhai asks him to go to there and warn Ali Mohammed to leave the land immediately.Ravi is suffering from brain tumor and while throwing things out of Ali Mohammed's house,he falls on the floor.Ali Mohammed takes him to the hospital.When Ravi gains consciousness,he realizes that he had been doing wrong and changes his mind. He realizes his duties and now wants to save Ali Mohammed's land at any cost from Veljibhai. Veljibhai,on realizing this,takes the ownnership to capture the land in his own hands.He gets Ali Mohammed killed in the process.Ali Mohammed has handed over the ownership of land to Ravi in his deed.
Veljibhai asks Ravi to hand over the deed papers in ransom for his brother,Ranjit.Ranjit however tries to get the papers back but is killed by Veljibhai.Now Ravi has everything to go against Veljibhai and not let his plans succeed.But Veljibhai is clever enough to kidnap his love Rita(Amrita Singh).Ravi rescues Rita and kills Veljibhai not before he is shot with four bullets,thus bringing the story up to the point of the film's opening scene.The ambulance arrives and in the hospital,Ravi is saved,along with the removal of his brain tumor.He gets the children's park built in Ali Mohammed's land as per his last wish. [Source:Wikipedia]

A Tribute to Naushad:-

Naushad was born on 25th December 1919 and raised as a Muslim in Lucknow,a city with a long tradition as a center of Muslim culture. His father,Wahid Ali,was a munshi(court clerk). As a child,Naushad would visit the annual fair at the Deva Sharif in Barabanki,25 km from Lucknow,where all the great qawwals and musicians of those days would perform before the devotees.He studied Hindustani music there under Ustad Ghurbat Ali,Ustad Yusuf Ali,Ustad Babban Saheb,and others.He also repaired harmoniums.As a lad,he joined a junior theatrical club and was appointed the club's music maestro for their theatrical presentations.He used to watch silent films at the Royal theatre in Lucknow.Theatre owners would hire a team of musicians to play the tabla,harmonium,sitar and violin.The musicians would watch the film first,make notes,finalise the scales required.When the show began in the evening,they would sit in front of the screen and play music for the scenes.This was a great way to be entertained and learn music at the same time.It made him grasp the nuances required in composing a film's background music score.In time Naushad formed his own Windsor Music Entertainers or just Windsor Entertainers ,so named because he had seen the word Windsor around Lucknow and liked its ring.It led to the Indian Star Theatrical Company in a theatre at Golagunj colony in Lucknow.He was trained under Laddan Khan until he became capable of working independently as a composer. There he also developed the sense to pick rare musical jewels from the folk tradition of Punjab,Rajasthan, Gujarat and Saurashtra during the company's sojourns in those regions.The traveling players got as far as Viramgam in Gujarat,where they discovered penury,even after selling off theatrical props and musical instruments.The company limped back to Lucknow through the kindness of one of Naushad's friends.Naushad had already become a cinema fan in the silent era,and then,in 1931,Indian cinema got voice and music that further fascinated the 13 year old boy.But his family was strict follower of Islamic diktat of prohibition of music and his father gave him ultimatum to leave music if he wanted to stay at home.He ran away to Bombay (now called Mumbai)in the late 1937 to try his luck as a musician.He was an expert Guru,ustad in all most all form of classical ragahas such as Ahir Bhairav,Alahaiya Bilawal,Bageshri, Bahar,Bhairavi,Bhimpalasi,Bihag,Brindavani Sarang, Darbari Kanada etc.He was held the posts President of Cine Music Directors Association,Chairman of Indian Performing Rights Society,President of Maharashtra State Angling Association,President of Alam-E-Urdu Conference(Delhi),The title of Special Executive Magistrate,Bombay and he was awarded Filmfare Best Music Director Award - Baiju Bawra,Bengal Film Journalists'Association's best music director Award for Gunga Jumna "Naushad Ali",a 30-minute documentary film produced by Television Centre,Bombay,Dada Saheb Phalke Award,Lata Mangeshkar Award(Madhya Pradesh state government's),Amir Khusro Award,Sangeet Natak Akademi Award,Padma Bhushan,Maharashtra Gaurav Puruskar and Best Music for"The Sword of Tipu Sultan".Naushad died on 5 May 2006 in Mumbai and Nawab of Lucknow was buried at the Juhu Muslim cemetery.[source:-Wikipedia]

Surjit finds out that his sister is in love with Manjit Singh, the younger brother of Thakur Gajendra Singh. When his sister gets pregnant, Surjit goes to Thakur's house in order to get Manjit to marry his sister. The Thakur humiliates him, making him, a vegetarian, eat dog-food, and beg on his knees. Surjit does so, and is told to go home and make wedding preparations. The next day, Thakur visits Surjit and kills him and his wife in broad daylight. Surjit's last dying wish is that his two sons, Raju and Kishan, must get married to Thakur's two daughters, Megha and Preeti, and they must have the Thakur come begging to their doorstep for this marriage alliance. Surjit's sister agrees to this, and accordingly brings up the two children.

Unfortunately, Raju decides to move away, leaving her alone to bring up Kishan. Years later, they are re-united when Raju returns home, and they join together to fulfill Surjit's last wish. What they do not know is Megha and Preeti are to be married to Minister Khurana's two sons, and nothing in the world is going to make the Thakur change his mind
